3 Reasons to Give Up Diet Culture Diets

I know we have all gone through those diets where we get so motivated and think “this will be the diet that sticks” ... and then it doesn’t. Here’s why it may be time to give up those diets.

1. They Hurt Your Self-Confidence

Diets have always tied the way you look with your self-worth. That’s just not right. Diet culture can get us concerned with what people think about us and push us to chase “dream” bodies. You are all beautiful humans that are measured by so much more than a thigh gap or a round booty. Even today, thicker thighs and shapes are “IN” and everyone can celebrate their natural contours and curves.

Since the idea of what people “should” look like is ever-changing, it is not healthy that we end up chasing these trends. Rather than having this unhealthy view of ourselves that can come from society and diets, wouldn’t it be wonderful if we were taught to love our bodies and feel good about who we are?...

Macro Counting and Diet Culture - What you need to know!

The Truth About Diet Culture

Have you tried various diets and found they never work? Or maybe they work for a short time, but they are too hard to continue? I get it. Diet culture can lead you to believe that losing weight should come at any cost. This is not true! These diet methods can often be unsustainable and lead to a negative perception about how we label food, our relationship with food, and how we look at our bodies. So what else can you do?

Macros (short for macronutrients) are proteins, carbs and fats. They make up the calories in all food, and your body NEEDS these calories. All of them. Don’t ditch those carbs! These foods provide the body with energy, and essentially, these foods provide the fuel your body needs to function throughout the day. Sounds important, right?

Macro Tracking is a way to log the foods that you eat. The process of weighing food to meet your macros teaches you how to visually see portion...

3 BIG Reasons Why You Need To Be Eating Carbs - Especially If Youโ€™re Wanting To Lose Weight

Not Eating Carbs, Eating Carbs?

I know, I know what you’re thinking right now. You’ve read the first sentence here, and you’re feeling a little bit skeptical. A little unsure. Hopefully, this will broaden your mind and helps you understand that carbohydrates are not the enemy. Now, I am certain that you can’t wait to hear the three big reasons why you need to be eating carbs. Let's jump into the world of carbohydrates!

Your Body Wants, And NEEDS Carbs

First things first, there are three main pillars of macronutrients which our body needs to function properly. It is essential to allow our body to take in proteins, fats and... Can you guess?

Right, carbohydrates. Any food which contains carbs is the main source of energy.

It’s like filling up a car with fuel, just that for us the fuel are carbs, without them we wouldn’t be able to do what our body can do.

Don’t Torture Yourself

I am going to be very real here. You are unlikely to...
